Cargo Claims

Your one stop process to submit your claims efficiently and smoothly.

Cargo Claim Procedure

1. Notify your Freight Forwarder that a loss or damage has occurred within three (3) Business days of delivery.

 

2. Prepare and send a letter indicating:

  a. Bill of Lading Number

  b. The value of the claim

  c. A description of the loss and any other details pertaining to the cargo in question

  d. Clarify if the cargo was short, damaged or both

 

3. The following supporting documents need to accompany the claim letter:

  a. Bill of lading

  b. Delivery receipt(s)

  c. Invoice highlighting the short/damaged items

  d. Damage report (where applicable)

  e. In the case of damages, photos of the damaged item(s)

  f. Stevedore report (where applicable)

  g. Container condition report (where applicable)

 

4. Copies of the following documents may also be required and will be requested as

needed:

  a. Estimate of repair or value of replacement

  b. Independent survey report

  c. Discrepancy certificate

  d. Condemnation or Disposal certificate

  e. Any other relevant documentation relevant to your claim.
